B Canter Garden Flat, 17 New King Street, BA1 2BL O 10/05/2017: I strongly object to SEVEN ILLUMINATED SIGNS on the above building. This hotel is in a prominent position, on the corner of two of the centres major roads and visually, very easily identifiable. We are a small UNESCO World Heritage City and not 42nd Street (Broadway) nor Las Vegus!!

The hotel should NOT be allowed even a single illuminated sign. A discreet name, ideally carved into the stone of the entrance and painted is all that is required for a building this size and in this prominent position in our Georgian city. In this day and age of the internet and sat nav tasteless visibility of this nature is not required.

Susan Miller 27 New King Street, Kingsmead, Bath, Bath And North East Somerset, BA1 2BL O 15/05/2017: I think that the number of signs requested is a problem and the impact that they will have on that corner. The area has been vastly improved by the new student building which is very much in keeping with other Bath buildings. This hotel is a great improvement too, as you were able to demolish the derelict office building that previously stood there. The signs could have a detrimental impact on that corner, being too garish. I know that this is a business but it's also a residential area and something more subtle would be better. 15/05/2017
