Patrick Anketell-Jones 9 City View, Walcot, Bath, Bath And North East Somerset, BA1 5JQ O 16/09/2018: The layout of these tables is typical of a trend in businesses exploiting public space for its own benefit. A brief visit to the site will confirm that the tables are spread out across two thirds of the pavement width, restricting pedestrian space and compromising public safety.

There is scope for two tables and four chairs to be placed abutting the front elevation of the premises and that should be the maximum number of tables allowed for external seating.

I strongly object the current application on the grounds that will be hazardous to pedestrian safety and compromise the character and appearance of Bath’s public realm.
